I always find post-apocalyptic stories interesting and intriguing: and this is a really, really good one. I'm totally shipping Oliver and Clark Kent and I'm getting plot bunnies where Zodd gets his powers and discovers Clark Kent and uses his powers to try and steal Clark from Oliver...you know stuff like that...I think it helps that the guy they cast for Zodd is HOT. :) And kind of evil but...could maybe pick another destiny. I also really love Tess. I'm even shipping Clark/Lois hardcore on the show. But truly, I think Clark/Oliver makes a lot more sense! they keep having heart to heart talks and wow does Oliver look great! I don't actually get the chance to practice with other people but I'm having a blast working through the life and death problems. 4:53p | "but the door hasn't swing shut yet" Whew! So going to Starbucks appears to agree with me. I've managed to get over two thousand words written today, and it was on "Marmalade". Hurrah for that. ^_^ Dunno if I'll write more, but I intend to try. Also, Tay helps me think of more tropes and cliches and such, which is a bonus. <3 Man, I wanna be done with "Marmalade". It's cute but I'm ready to be finished. I'm only up to the part right after Jimmy bites it, dammit. But things are a little truncated, since Dean can read minds (not everyone's, but Cassie's mother was wide open), and they have Dom and Brian on the Hunt as well, so it won't take them as long in my AU as it took them in canon. Some of these may be in the wrong list, though I tried to be careful about that. Some of these are things I've already written, and some are cliches or kinks that I will never write, but put down here for the sake of thoroughness. (Although I certainly would've never thought I'd write mpreg, so I guess I shouldn't discount anything.) So! 8:08p | Well, that was certainly something. My brother is stationed at Fort Hood, he was working there today. He is fine, but things are all crazy down there. Those guys have been through shit with all these multiple deployments and now this. I have no idea what the government is thinking, but this was the inevitable result. If they keep it up, there will no doubt be more. Our service personnel deserve better treatment and they are not getting it. This is a disgrace on them and that poor soul who did this. My heart is with the families of all the victims. |

Werd count: 0 I forgot that Tay got me "Running Scared" and "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen" this past weekend - whee!! God, we SO need a new DVD rack - we've bought at least six DVDs since we ran out of space, and the extra movies are just kicking around on the floor, the sofa, the coffee table, and the tee vee tray. Plus, I hope and intend to buy "Freddy VS Jason" and possibly "Smokin' Aces" (if I can find it cheap enough) soon. If I can't work on my in-progress stuff, then I can at least prepare for next year. I need to make a list. Actually, several lists. I'm looking for Fanfiction Tropes, Fanon Cliches, Fanfiction Cliches, and Kinks. If anyone has anything that they want to throw my way, please do. I'm mainly looking for "Supernatural" related cliches and etc, but even general ones will help. Once I've gotten my lists fleshed out, I'll prolly post them here and see if anyone can see anything I've left off, but I dunno when that's gonna be. You know, mpreg, crossdressing, sex pollen, wingfic, omc.... I'm not going to use every cliche (I've already done several of them in my past fics), but I want to put together a very comprehensive list. *nods* Now, here's hoping I feel better tomorrow than I have been. 5:54p | TeeeVeee V.- I found the pilot last night for the V reboot disappointing. It has potential and some characters I liked, but the script was very, very clunky. I'll give it a shot next week, see if it improves any. Leverage.- I should learn to use DVR now that we got our new box, maybe see the show "live" for once. The first season was my happy place for a few days, as we zipped through the episodes. @nd season has been sometimes *meh*, but I so love Parker and Hardison. OK, and Eliot too. I haven't seen a single episode of White Collar yet, which makes me a rare specimen in my flist. I will though! I just need to -um- figure out when it's on. This is why people use DVR, yes? I'm so used to downloading stuff, so now that I'm actually seeing my new(ish) shows with Mr. Logovo it means messing with an actual TV. Last thing. Burn Notice? My husband likes it, I haven't been crazy about it, had seen some S2 episodes with him, but before my trip to Mexico I saw the pilot and a handful of S1 episodes. Wow, it feels like the same thing that happened to Burn Notice happened to Leverage in S2. Sort of losing some of it's kick, which means you (well, more like I) stay because a love of the characters, and sort of stick with it even if the writing is not as fresh. Lesson to self: Don't jump into a show in S2. Always go back. |

4:22p | and i regarded the sky, where the moon was growing Dammit all, I do not suffer from S.A.D. - I fucking LOVE this colder weather and the overcast skies and the rain and it isn't even overcast today; it's cool and clear and perfect! So why come I don't want to write, don't even feel like reading anything?! What is this slump? Hell, it's been four and a half months. I thought in November I'd want to focus on finishing things, but I definitely don't. Well, I have moments where I do, but it's usually when I'm not at my computer, and if it is, the mood has passed by the time I get a file open to the right spot. =.=;; We're getting up an hour later because Tay's off this week and next, and this morning Pepper let me sleep, but I had to get up at the usual time anyhow, to take pills for a terrible headache and mild neckache. I still hurt when I got up, but not so badly, and I'm tired and worn out today. I hope I sleep well tonight and don't wake up in pain tomorrow. ^.^ Speaking of pain, I finally watched "Transformers 2" (I'm not going to write the full, overblown, silly title - it's the second movie, so it's #2). Man, I made the right choice in avoiding seeing that in the theatre! It somehow managed to be worse than the first one, and the few ways in which it was better, it wasn't better in any good ways. (If you can't decipher my meaning, I'm afraid I can't be any clearer.) Both movies seem to have been scripted by a group of 10-12 year old boys, who were hormonal, obnoxious, and had zero idea of how real people talk to one another. And the newest movie didn't even give good Josh, like the first one did! I'm not even going to get into how offensive the racial stereotypes were. *wince* But "G.I. Joe" was just as good on a repeat viewing, even if it made me wish that we had a larger television. ^_~ I really adore Byung-hun Lee - he's so cuuuuuuuuute!!!! *wants to pinch his cheeks* Oh hay, I'm actually writing, even if it's only a post. At some points today I didn't think I'd be able to and even wondered whether I'd be able to continue my daily posting routine. That's pretty pathetic. Jared watches from the sidelines as Jensen's career disintegrates in the passage of four five-minute rounds, and refuses to stay away. What they have, and the man Jensen doesn't realize he can be, are worth fighting for. This is engaging and absolutely wonderful - to see how Jared manages to connect with Jensen, see how their relationship develops in such circumstances is amazing. |

You know, I just can't imagine watching movies on a screen smaller than 65" now. In fact, that doesn't seem large enough. But I guess that's the whole point of going to the theatre and sitting close (which we do). Er, not that I'm not grateful for our giant tee vee, because I totally am! ^o^;; But it's tough going from watching an action film multiple times in the theatre to watching it at home. ^.^ I think dinner's about done now. They're stupid and have bad effects, but they're just so much fun, with moderately pretty cast members. (Unlike the second one - ech!) I keep thinking the people in the fourth movie are familiar, but then I look them up on imdb and realize that they only seem so familiar because I used to watch this movie so much, and that was a good ten-fifteen years ago. I've already written most of the fun scenes, so now I'm just plodding through the rest of it to get it done. Blah. But right now Imma go and shower. After sitting through the boredom of "Smokin' Aces" and cheering at the Tremor brothers parts (especially when Darwin was making Ben Affleck's dead character "talk" like a puppet while Jeeves and Lester evidently engaged in violent foreplay behind him), the DVD skipped past the entirety of their epic shootout! Argh!! It's not that I wanted to see two of the three die (we did get to see Darwin get shot at the end, then Tay turned the movie off), but that was their blaze of glory, and we missed the whole thing! Considering that they're the only reason we were watching the movie, that's more than a bit frustrating! Yes, that was another Blockbuster copy. We need to get a new DVD player, but we also really need to stick to NetFlix from now on. Blockbuster can go screw itself. ]=P Then we watching "Nightmare on Elm Street 2". I'd never seen that one before, and now I know why. Wow, that was some serious faggotry! And I don't mean because it sucked really bad, although it did. I mean because there was a butt-ton of homosexual subtext! Yikes! Oh, and also it sucked really badly. Poor production values, poor acting, ugly actors, poor sets, poor costuming, poor makeup, terrible scripting, poorly cut together.... I don't regret having seen it, because I'd like to belately catch up on my "NoES" films (I still need to see everything that came after the fourth one), but that movie made "Freddy VS Jason" look fucking Oscar-worthy! ^.^;; I mean, for God's sake, the movie had a Bing Crosby song for the closing credits - Bing Crosby! Oh, yeah, that's much better than Dokken! /sarcasm (I wonder if anyone else knows who Dokken even is. I may be the only former headbanger I know who obsessively listened to even flash-in-the-pan bands. Though, actually, Dokken was more well known than, say, Lillian Axe or Dangerous Toys. Or Killer Dwarfs. Heh. *was a geek even about hard rock*) Pepper got us up early this morning, unplugging the clock radio. =.=;; Not cool! Then I discovered that we were out of coffee filters - I could've sworn we had more, but we don't. So I used paper towels, because no way am I going without my coffee! Though it's not helping much. The Propensities of Good Men by thevinegarworks (Castiel/Dean) INSTANT REC!!! I liked the plot, character voices, and the sex was hot. :) Stargate Universe Negative Space by cerebel_fics (Rush/Young) I liked the character voices and imagery. Star Trek So Wise We Grow by captanddeastar (Kirk/Spock) INSTANT REC!!! I could not stop reading this story once I started. I LOVED the plot, the character voices, and the humor! I had a lot of fun reading on Saturday. I also had a blast giving out candy over Halloween. I waited to watch Merlin until after 8:30 my time which is pretty much when we ran out of candy. It was all around a fun day. And now I'm playing catch up on Sunday with homework.
