finally, i dropped it and listened Re: last entry.... And by "shower", obviously I meant "clean the kitchen, load the dishwasher, clear off the table, set up a centerpiece, clean out the litterboxes, start a load of laundry, and sweep the bathroom floor". And NOW, a couple of hours later, I'm going to go and shower. ^.^;; Hey, Gin! (Or Nep!) You know that line in "Banned From Argo" that goes, "we found him with five partners, each of a different world and sex"? You have to tell me that someone has written that fic! I don't want to read it, I don't need a link, I just need to know that it exists! ^o^ Okay, now I'm really gonna go and shower. While the washing machine is running, because I'm brilliant like that. ^_~ Jan~!!! Current Mood: overly caffeinatedCurrent Music: the washing machine |

the design looked slobbered-upon Happy Thanksgiving! It's the one holiday my family celebrated when I was growing up (no Xmas, Valentine's, etc), but it's never been a really big deal. A time to be with family and eat good food and sometimes watch movies. When my Dad's mother was alive I got to see my uncles and aunts and cousins, but now that my Mom is gone, I don't even get to see all of my siblings. That's the way things go, sadly. I'm not going to list the things I'm thankful for, as I've done in years past. Take it as a given that I am thankful every day for almost everything that I have (with only two or three exception). Having one day of good eats to focus on that isn't going to make me any more grateful. I mean it; I take a moment or two every day to realize how good I have it. I think that's how I stay so upbeat almost all the time. ^_^ That said, though, I'm REALLY THANKFUL that Tay was able to get my my Xmas gift early and I'm typing this on my new laptop!! It's amazing and shiny, it has a much brighter screen and a fully functioning keyboard (I know I keep mentioning that, but having a wonky spacebar gets really old, fast!), and everything is familiar, because it's a Mac with a version of OSX, but everything is just a little bit better. =^_^= THANK YOU, TAY!!!! I cut my middle right finger pretty deeply at werk last night. It didn't bleed much, but it's really inconvenient. It's the finger I use for moving around on my mousepad, the one I use for putting in my contacts.... *sigh* And I woke up with a headache. The Tylenol is helping, I think. Maybe after I take a warm shower it'll be gone entirely. But, hey, I'm not werking today, I get to go and see my brother's household for the first time, and we're picking up a Gin on the way home and having our extra-delicious do-over tomorrow!! *glees* And Tay and Gin will do all or most of the cooking - bonus! ^o^ More later, probably. I'm even thinking about taking the camera, since the kiddies are going to be there. ^_^ But right now... I shower! Current Mood: peacefulCurrent Music: tay playing katamari forever |

Part 2 is nice enough I started the next fic in the Dead Like Vin verse. It will involve the old west. The third fic, however, will jump to the early-mid twentieth century. I think this one will be a little longer than I had intended, which will be okay.
Also in the works, a 25,000 word Space: Above and Beyond fic. Debating right now whether I want to include mpreg or not. As you know, I don't just slot it in to any fic, that there is a reason for it in my other mpreg fics, (yes, even my crack fics).
Doing a little STXI ficlet before I switch over to the novella I started a few months back. There are a few plots I have been kicking around that have hijacked it. When I decide how to weave them in to the story proper, I will start it up again. In the mean while, my character voices in the fandom have become rusty and I need to do this ficlet to get them back.
Don't worry, TK, I will get to your birthday ficlet, I promise. There is just the problem with Spock/Ronon that you want in it. I've taken to feeling him as a bottom for Kirk lately and need to work his Dom mojo. So, Spock/Chekov, because Chekov is such a sweet bottom...or is that he has such a sweet bottom?
Wow, despite the chill outside, this is certainly turning out to be a toasty thanksgiving. Gotta go to my aunt and uncle's this afternoon. Might get something done before then, hopefully. If not, tomorrow definitely.
Toodles, ducks. Enjoy your day wherever you are no matter how you have to spend it. |

"get me my shadow" It's kinda hard to believe that tomorrow is already Thanksgiving. Back in the beginning of October I was whining that I wanted the month to be over, in order to get to some cooler weather and some fun holidays. Now, here I've turned around and it's November that's almost gone. =.=;; But, hey, the weather is a lot cooler, so hurray for that! ^o^ I've found my "home" and "refresh" buttons on Safari. I've transferred almost everything from Odin. I still need to download some other browsers and Fetch onto my new computer, and add to my bookmark bar in Safari, but I'm essentially "moved in". Yays! =^_^= I'm ever so grateful for this laptop - it was very very time for an upgrade! *hearts her tay* Did some more reading of "AtR:DI" last night. It still feels weird to be reading and not writing - especially when I have such an awesome new keyboard. But it's something I need to do, both to fix all the things that need fixing and to get back into the mindset of the story I got distracted from three years ago. And eventually I'll have read through it all and can get to writing new stuff. Then I can finish it, and THEN I can get to writing on my Dean-centric fics! (Oh, and working on my other projects, of course. Heh.) All right. Off into the day. Hey, it's "Friday"! Well, even if it wasn't a holiday, tomorrow would be my "Friday". But I'll take an extra day off! ^_~ Too bad I'm closing tonight.... But at least I can sleep in tomorrow. ^_^ Current Mood: soreCurrent Music: the new water thing we got the cats |

x_x I have never had so many WIPs at once EVER. Between fannish glee and original pursuits, I have... TEN on the go at once. Okay, geez, I didn't think it was that many when I went to count. And not WIP as in, paused and will perhaps never finish WIP (though I have a few of those now and it is also a new experience for me) but stories that I'm actively WORKING on. This makes me CAPSLOCK for EXCESSIVE EMPHASIS like I'm HARRY freakin' POTTER. It's enjoyable to have so much that makes me go sdkjls, but I sorta miss my hardcore focus of hardcoreness. I probably am getting just as much or more done, but it feels like less when I don't have a tidy sequential to do list to check off. Talk, talk, talktalktalk. Hello, insane hour of the morning. I think I saw you here the same time yesterday, imagine that. Originally posted at Dreamwidth here. Please comment there using OpenID or ask me for an invite code. :3 |

Tuesday - RPF http://community.livejournal.com/crack_impala/247131.html Indigo raeschae and vamphile | R | AU Jensen isn’t a hooker. For real, he’s not. Jared occasionally stays at the Hotel Indigo. He missed the memo. Adorable and straight to the id.Rounding the Bases crackedbuthappy | NC-17 | AU Jared is a firm believer that dating is like baseball. Every man who steps up to the plate has to work hard to round the bases. He doesn’t believe in letting anyone hit a home run; a guy has to work for it, he has to hit every base from his place in the batter’s box to sliding into home. And in Jared's baseball metaphor for life? Jensen's a very capable batter. Incredibly hot fic, with a very smart way to make things go steamier and steamier.Blame It On Gravity fahrbot and karabou | NC-17 | AU In which Jensen's friends are assholes, and Jensen falls for Jared. Literally. I love when the guys are smart, and silly, and just *guys*. This story has all that. Plus hot sex, which is never a bad thing :) |

I'm feeling better, I think. I am feeling a lot better than I did 2 days ago. There is still some soreness, nose still runs like a leaky faucet at times. Other than that, I am fine. Ribs still hurt from the coughing, though.
Am thinking up a new idea for a M7/DLM ficlet. Haven't decided which one to write, though.
Considering where to apply next. I know it is a little late, but I am tired of getting no where. At least applying I feel somewhat productive. |

autumn comes I found a book today that looks interesting and checked it out. I read the first page while walking to meet Tay. Then I stuffed the book in my purse, took out my Sidekick, and started reading "Lay Some Marmalade On Me" instead. ^.^;; I'm still going to give the book a chance. It has what sounds like an interesting plot. It's a supernatural thriller. But I swear, I spent the entire first page thinking about how I would have worded things better differently than the author. (And then I found three godawful typos in the first half of "Marmalade" - so much for my inflated sense of superiority! *wince*) I put on "Aeon Flux" last night, for background noise, and despite the fact that I was reading stuff on the internet and despite the fact that I've seen it twice before, this time I actually followed the plot for the first time! I was kind of surprised by that fact. ^_^;; And am I ever going to NOT get Charlize Theron and Naomi Watts mixed up?! At least Elizabeth Banks stands out in my mind. ^.^ I found a new pair of sweatpants - I had to get them out of the men's section in order to get some that weren't low waisted. Too bad I can't do the same for jeans. Hah! Considering the way males wear their jeans now, forget it! You know, there were a lot of bad fashions in the eighties, but at least back then you could see people's asses! *grumbles* I hate to sound like a cranky oldster, but on "Nightmare on Elm Street" Johnny Depp's ass looked fantastic! Nowadays, we're lucky if Jared's jeans mostly fit his ass on "Friday the 13th", and that is NOT the norm. [=P Current Mood: mellowCurrent Music: the simpsons for background noise |

Monday - Gen http://community.livejournal.com/crack_impala/246842.html The Mountains In Reply unoshot | PG-13 | Season 5 spoilers Castiel is standing six inches too far inside Dean's personal space, and the two of them are playing intenser-than-thou while Sam fidgets impatiently with the strap of his bag and thinks about how it's a hell of a lot drier inside the car. The author expertly gives life to the how and why of Castiel's presence in the lives of the brothers. So compelling, it'll trick you into thinking its canon. The one hundred and forty-four thousand people of Israel lemanya | R | AU, Season 5 Spoilers Where was I? feather on the wind Even though we got to the fancypants store late, we still managed to get ourselves a nice free range turkey instead of having to get a Winco one. Pretty good, considering we didn't pre-order, like we did last year. Did all the grocery shopping for our Thanksgiving re-do, but of course managed to forget a few things. Well, there's still time for last minute stuff. We're watching "The Mutant Chronicles" now. It's bleak and yet boring and everyone is either dead or going to die, but there's so much PRETTY. God, I love the actors! Well, most of them. John Malkovich was really kind of annoying, but his character didn't have too many scenes. Devon Aoki and Anna Walton are just fucking beautiful (and both died while I was writing this post - heh). And I have to admit to a sorry sort of affection for Thomas Jane (the low rent Christopher Lambert), even though he's usually in shitty movies. Ditto for Ron Perlman (well, I'll forgive him anything, because he was on "The City of Lost Children"). So, yeah, we'll probably have to buy it, because even though it's bleak and boring, it's a well made film with gorgeous actors, and we own worse movies for less reason. *coughdeepblueseacough* All right, back to more transferring of files. [=P Naturally, moving four years of stuff isn't going to be quick or easy. But there's stuff I can do while Odin is grinding away. in order to avoid homework bulletpoints!
- Although I managed surprisingly well on cards last year, there's no way I'm going to manage this year. I'm slightly bummed about this, but I think I'll just resolve to send more random letters throughout the year as that's way more fun to receive.
- I made adorable cupcakes at work again. I wish I had an excuse to make them at home, or a whole lot more people to foist them off on.
- The last two episodes of Fringe made me all excited and giddy, even with a brief Not Sure If Want moment in there. I need to get over my tendency to want to fit things neatly in canon and just write the smushy porn that I want to write.
- There is absolutely no way to reply to an anon thread with you as the subject without a) being a dick, b) encouraging the drama, and c) being a dick. I replied anyway.
- There is absolutely no way to blog/tweet/mention replying to an anon thread with you as the subject without encouraging the drama and being a bit of a dick, but it made me laugh. Oh, people.
- I had this big complicated adventure dream with JDM in it last night. It was awesome. Then I had to get up and go to work, which was less awesome, even though our new brunch cook made me Huevos for breakfast.
- Speaking of our new cook, she's been teaching J how to make stuff. Including this awesome grilled tomato salsa which is downstairs right now, calling to me. She's the best.
- I severely need a nap, but if I sleep now I'll wake up at the time which I should be going to bed. Conflict. |

Sunday - Sam/Dean Porn http://community.livejournal.com/crack_impala/246695.html A Thousand Touches cha and brie | NC-17 Sam stopped talking when he was a kid. Dean just got used to it, after all, Sam's his kid-brother. Their relationship is based on notes, nods and touches. But there are thousands of touches in a lifetime - and just maybe that changes things. Sam's muteness and Dean's unwavering devotion to Sam are touching and heartfelt. The slow, solid transformation from brothers to lovers is tender, but never overwhelming the foundation of their relationship, of them being brothers. The Last Sweetness folkhore | NC-17 | Spoilers for 5.10 There's a first time for everything, and their last night on earth is as good as any. Maybe it's been too long coming. Sweet, hot and intense missing scene. The emotions in this really jump off the page and make for so much more than just really good porn. |

Some bad news for my family I just heard from my sister that my grandmother on my mom's side of the family has fallen into a coma and it doesn't look good. :( I've known for a few weeks now that my grandmother was dying but I've been kind of trying not to think about it and distract myself because it's hard being thousands of miles away and being unable to do anything beyond calling to say hi. I'm going to have to look and see if there are any tickets for sell. I get the feeling I'm going to have to fly down to San Antonio sometime this upcoming week or next week. :( Assuming, I can find an open seat. angry cat Man, the internet is so dead this weekend. [=P And it's weird, switching emails. I'm really not used to Gmail, and not entirely thrilled with it, but if Tay couldn't get my regular email to work, then, well. Yeah. I'm transferring files via a new 8GB flash drive that Tay got me yesterday. It's a slow process. Downloading things onto the new computer is pretty swift, but loading them from Odin onto the flash drive - yikes! ^.^;; And last night, transferring the BJD folder onto the flash drive off of Odin was an exercise in futility. It was going for 4 hours, at least, and was getting close to halfway done when we finally went to bed at 1:30. So I wake up this morning and it's "done", meaning that there's a message saying there wasn't enough memory on the flash drive to complete the task. =.=;; So I divided up the folder into three and I'm giving it another try. Let's hope it works better this time! So, frustrations aside, the new laptop is amazing and awesome, and I have a hard time dealing with change, but this is a change for the better, so I'll hopefully adjust quickly. ^_^ I'm in love with the keyboard and mousepad, I have to say. Odin was hanging in there, but it was SO time for an upgrade. Happy Holidays early!! <3 Now I suppose I ought to go and shower and think about getting ready for werk. *sigh* And I really need to pull my scattered consciousness together and try to make some actual use of my new laptop.... It's disconcerting, simply re-reading what I've written, but it's entirely necessary if I'm going to continue the story in a coherent, involving fashion..... Bloo. Harry Potter, Star Trek, Merlin, and Supernatural Recs + 1 Meta rec Supernatural MetaSupernatural Thoughts by faye_dartmouth I thought faye did an excellent job of detailing a bit of what's happening in SPN. If you're having a blast with season 4 and 5 I do not recommend this meta. For me it appealed because while I still watch the show I still miss season 1 and 2 of SPN and this post did a great job of articulating some of what I miss. Harry PotterTheft of Assets, Destruction of Property by helenish ( Draco/Neville) INSTANT REC!!!! I could not stop reading once I started! I loved the plot, character voices, and I really loved the ending. :) MerlinThe Knights Have a Thousand Eyes by stakeaclaim INSTANT REC!!! Shadows of Truth by cat_77 ( Gen) I had a blast reading this story. I loved the character voices, the action, plot, and how everyone pulled together. Good adventure story. Different perceptions by gonrie ( Gen) I loved seeing Arthur and Merlin's friendship from multiple povs. Star Trek RebootTerminal Point by posyvanilla ( Kirk/Spock) I liked the plot and character voices. Repeat Offender by seperis ( Kirk/Spock) I really liked the character voices and the plot. Question to my flist? Is the term Redneck considered offensive? Because I use that term quite loosely describe a lot of guys in the south, especially in Texas and someone pointed out to me recently that it's considered offensive. So it was kind of a surprise to me because I'd always considered it a descriptor for anyone that likes fishing/hunting, beer, and big trucks. And may or may not be uneducated. EDIT: the masses have spoken! :) Based on the responses it's safe to conclude that yes using "Redneck" can be offensive so I should only use it with good friends and family, or if I really want to insult someone. Thanks everyone who responded! http://amalthia.dreamwidth.org/588975.html#comments |

J2My Social Skills Would Fit Good in Prison chash JA/JP | R | AU From what Jared understands, his college rooming situation is kind of like The Odd Couple, except for the way Jensen is a homophobic douchebag. The Shortest Distance estrella30 JA/JP | Adult Remix of "From Point A to Point B" by light_up. A simple story of friendship that leads to more after a drunken night out - but the really interesting part is the unique style in which the story is told. A very cool read! Sam/DeanA Foreign Land oxoniensis Dean/Sam | NC-17 | First-time, pre-Stanford It's a long hot summer: Sam doesn't recognize himself in the mirror. This is an incredibly vivid story that almost pulsates with repressed emotion. It's so very reminiscent of being a teenager, when everything's changing and so very intense. This is a pre-series Sam/Dean that is so emotionally charged that it impacts on every event that happens later. |
